Digipack-Photoshoot inspiration

Digipak Photoshop Inspiration

I will be completing my live Photoshop soon for my advertisement and digipak so i thought i would research generic conventions according to my genre, this will enable me to compile a full-proof authentic cover, i am also in the process of completing my mock up designs for both the digipak and advertisement  this will help me establish what types of fonts, colors and poses to include within.
Below you will see a collage of my genres typical covers, back covers and genuine photos.

All of the above pictures have been comprised from recent months, although the song we are choosing is a few years older, it still has an up to date beat and lyrically it is relevant to today's hip hop scene. I have noticed an important factor in today's hip hop album covers, artwork, posters etc, which is that there are two set formations in which you can follow known in slang as ( SWAG VS CLASS) this is the term used by youths to describe either a 'street' 'ghetto' fashion which would be SWAG, which is said in most songs thees days and refereed to in many different ways (not just a high end label of clothing) and then there is CLASS which is  a more formal 'gentlemen approach to hip hop. every artist offers a range of looks from 'swag' to 'class'. Key conventions of rap/hip hop posters include bold rich colors (golds, whites and reds) these colors are used i think because the genre is based around wealth and style of the wealth that the artist has. Typically the mise en scene in both posters and front covers tend to be expensive clothing, However speaking from a long time hip hop fan, i would say there is never really any traditional conventions to follow as every artist has there own look, however if i was to combine all ideas concerning hip hop imagery then i would have to point out the constant use of camera shot, being a mid shot  (sometimes a little closer) which is used as it just simply works with most covers regardless of the other mise en scene surrounding it. I will most likely use a mid shot in my mock ups and in my actual designs for my front cover, in terms of color i will probably keep it simple and plain like the ASAP american flag, and the Rick Ross cover.
